Learning to become a lawyer

Hello my dear friend!

As you already know, I entered the American University at the Faculty of Law. I have always loved this beautiful and picturesque country, so I really wanted to study here. More than that, I was always interested in English, which I can now practice absolutely everywhere and I have always been fascinated by the field of law. It all started with watching my first detective series in my life, and of course, how could it be without the classics: the books of Arthur Conan Doyle made an unforgettable impression on me.

Now, when I study here in America, I can combine my two hobbies. I study international law and do it in English. I know you don’t spend a lot of time studying English, you have always been more interested in mathematics and other exact sciences, but I would highly recommend you start studying English deeper., Because it will help you to enter a university in America in the near future, just as I did. You can learn English online without even leaving your home.

The last time you asked me about the profession of a lawyer, it seemed to me that you even thought about becoming a lawyer in the future. In my letter, I want to describe to you some of the subtleties associated with this profession, and also, I will slightly improve your level of English in the field of jurisprudence.

Most of the times when people envision their future careers as a lawyer, they envision themselves as judges, attorneys, investigators, lawyers, or someone who prefers a more relaxed occupation as a conveyancer :). But will you be able to occupy any of these positions immediately after graduation? Most likely not. The answer is because the market is overflowing with lawyers looking for decent jobs, and employers give priority to people with a certain amount of jurisprudence. Therefore, the best solution would be to start your career as a legal advisor. In this position, you will be able to put into court, provide expertise, and promote the interests of people in civil matters. The salary in this position is not great, but it will be a good start in your career ladder. As they say, not all at once.

After you have worked as a consultant for a certain time either in the tax service or in the administration of the municipality, you will be able to apply for higher positions, since you have gained practice, which you may have lacked during your studies.

Already, while studying at the university, we are engaged in various legal matters, such as: creation of a juridical person, execution of a transaction, learning to help receive insurance, learning to resolve an economic dispute.

When you come to work after training, you will be able to deepen your theoretical knowledge, but most importantly, you will hone it all in practice, in real cases, with real clients.

If you decide to enter an American university, then you should pay enough attention to preparing for the entrance exams, as many aspire to become highly qualified professionals in the field of international law.

Whether it's worth studying to be a lawyer or not is up to you, but now you know some of the nuances of the legal profession, you know what we are studying and what we will be doing. And I also learned some terms in English, which, I hope, did not seem at all difficult for you.

See you!
